I am Link Buckles, owner of Countertops by Design. I started this business in 2003. During the past 20 years the business has seen continual growth requiring 3 moves. The location purchased in 2015 at 1483 Hwy 27 Westby, Wisconsin provides our team with the space needed to expand our operation to what it is today. We pride ourselves on being big enough to meet your needs, while small enough to know you.
We are surrounded by multiple cabinet builders who do beautiful, high-quality work at an affordable price. We work closely not only with these local craftsmen but with many others in the tristate area to ensure timely installs for your project.

We travel within a 2-hour radius of the our Westby location.
Our Process from Start to Finish
Stop in or email your project dimensions to Casey Halverson our Materials Manager caseyh.cbd@gmail.com. We will get you an estimate of cost within 1-2 days. If doing the initial measurements for your estimate is a concern, we will come to your home and assist with that.

A visit to our showroom is the perfect starting point to help you in selecting your material type, color, and finish. We will explain the many options for backsplashes and edging to create a finished product that is exactly what you want. If our showroom hours don't work for you, we are happy to set up additional times. We also do free in-home consultation, bringing samples to help guide you with decisions. Our goal is to make this important selection process enjoyable and relaxing for you.

We have many remnants for smaller jobs such as vanities, laundry rooms, bars, furniture tops in our outdoor area. Additional ones are added daily. We will help you with your selection to ensure you pick a correct size for your project.

When your material has been selected and you have decided on us to do your work, a 50% deposit is required to get material ordered or tagged.

Once cabinets are set, we come to your home or business for the official template measurement. For this to occur, all cabinets need to be installed and leveled. Sink decisions made, ordered, and available if not purchased from us. We need to have your sink at our shop at time of fabrication. Traditional Apron/farmer sinks need to be installed by your carpenter prior to our templating. We also carry a retro farm sink that gives you the look of the apron sink with out the expense of changing cabinet door height. Cooktop specs will also be required prior to fabrication.

With granite selections when it's time for fabrication, many of our customers enjoy collaborating with the fabricator on how best to lay out the granite to get maximum design satisfaction. This needs to occur at least 3-4 days before the scheduled installation date.

For granite, after your material is fabricated, our finishing technicians then apply a 15 year STAIN-PROOF sealer to all granite. We are then ready for installation.

Our goal is to install 2-3 weeks after we do the template but this timeline can extend during busy times. We will set up the template and installation times that works best for you.
